The Risks of Casting Too Wide a Net With Recruiters

This is what dealing with multiple recruiters can look like ... it gets messy.
My advice for any candidates looking for a new permanent role (especially if you're still employed):

✅ Dont rush the process.
✅ Call the recruiter up and introduce yourself.
✅ Your resume is valuable, dont send it everywhere and be careful on where you upload it.
✅ Pick 1 or 2 recruiters initially (ideally 1) - If you're spread across too many, then the likelihood is you will not be prioritised.
✅ Partner with a recruiter with multiple years of experience recruiting in your specific industry - they have had enough time to immerse themselves.
✅ Make sure that your needs are clear and that they have listened to you.
✅ Dont just discuss current vacancies, ask them which clients they have on their books who you would be well suited to, see if they can create an opportunity.
✅ Be explicit with the recruiter, make it clear that you are partnering with them exclusively and get a timeframe on when they will get back to you.
✅ Ensure you get a breakdown in writing of where they are presenting you and make sure they ONLY send to the businesses that you have approved.
✅ Be open and honest about other applications you have made and any interviews you have locked in already.

I can write a much longer list of reasons why all the above is important.
If you're looking to partner with a recruiter to help you move into a new role, or just want some general advice, please reach out!
